I was recommended this not too long ago, it is an easy listen and not one of my favourites but is quite enjoyable as a piece and I had the pleasure of picking this song apart. Described as dramatic and dark, Me and That Man lie in the Southern Gothic genre, embellishing with themes of cynicism and satanism, bending the rules of Blues and Country rock. However, this track is quite fiery and Indefatigable, pumping up the listener. They lyrics are quite relatable to drastic changes of society and is a classic antiestablishment anthem. The chorus immediately latches onto your mind and encourages the listener to sing along.

“We gotta fight for the right to fight. we’re gonna fire up the night”

John Porter provides clean, warm vocals, the ideal leader of such cause. The climbing thuddy Basslines are subtle but not unnoticed, accompanied with stabby pearlescent guitar and the tight and snappy drums preserve the drive. The bridge introduces dark battle toms and walking baselines, accompanied with ‘oohs and ahhs’ of anticipation. In the forefront, Nergal provides strong, rusty lines of the battle speech before returning to the chorus for the final time. The Official Lyric Video for Fight was released Via Napalm Records is now available to watch on YouTube!
